FlowShift is a focus and productivity app that helps users start focus sessions with functional music. This Privacy Policy explains what data FlowShift collects, how that data is used, and how you can request deletion.

Data we collect

FlowShift may collect the following data when you use the app:

  • Email address, if you create an account, subscribe to the newsletter or launch list, contact us, or otherwise provide it.
  • Account information needed to provide the app, such as a user identifier and basic account settings.
  • Play history and session activity, such as the focus modes you use, sessions started, tracks played, timestamps, and similar usage history.
  • App preferences, such as selected focus modes, favorites, and settings.
  • Basic technical information needed to operate and secure the app, such as device type, app version, diagnostics, and log data.
  • Crash and error diagnostics, such as error logs, stack traces, timestamps, app version, operating system version, and related technical context.

How we use data

We use collected data to provide and improve FlowShift, including to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Stream focus music and remember your app preferences.
  • Show your play history and maintain focus-session functionality.
  • Manage newsletter subscriptions and send product updates if you subscribe.
  • Provide support and respond to privacy or deletion requests.
  • Understand app performance, fix issues, and keep the service secure.

Crash and error diagnostics

FlowShift uses Sentry for crash reporting, error monitoring, and app diagnostics. When an error or crash occurs, Sentry may collect technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, error logs, stack traces, timestamps, and related diagnostic context. This data is used to identify, debug, and fix issues, improve app stability, and keep FlowShift reliable.

Depending on the error context, diagnostic data may be associated with a user identifier or email address if needed to understand and resolve an issue. We do not use Sentry data for advertising.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your personal data for third-party advertising. We may share data with service providers that help us operate FlowShift, such as hosting, database, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, newsletter subscription management, email, and support providers. These providers process data on our behalf so the app and website can function.

If you subscribe to FlowShift email updates through the app or website, we share your email address with Beehiiv so Beehiiv can manage your newsletter subscription, deliver emails, and handle unsubscribe preferences.

We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect FlowShift, or to respond to valid legal requests.

Website data

The FlowShift website is static and does not include a CMS. The website may use Vercel Web Analytics to understand basic site usage. Newsletter signup data is handled by Beehiiv when you join the launch list or subscribe to updates. The website loads Beehiiv attribution tracking when the launch list form is viewed.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. Personal data is transmitted over secure connections where supported, and access is limited to systems and providers needed to operate FlowShift. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect user data responsibly.

Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide FlowShift, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and support legitimate business operations. Play history and account data are retained while your account is active unless you delete it or request deletion.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and associated app data from within the FlowShift app by using the in-app deletion option. You can also request deletion by emailing [email protected].

When you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your account data, email address, play history, preferences, and other associated app data unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or accounting reasons.

Your choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at [email protected]. You can unsubscribe from newsletter, marketing, or launch-list emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails.

Children

FlowShift is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as FlowShift changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or on the website.
